Musical Comedy Rated P For Parenthood Opens at Off-Broadway’s Westside Theatre

Rated P for Parenthood, a musical sketch comedy about raising kids, opens February 29 at off-Broadway’s Westside Theatre. Helmed by Jeremy Dobrish, Rated P For Parenthood features a book by Sandy Rustin, music by Dan Lipton and David Rossmer, and lyrics by Rustin, Lipton and Rossmer. The production stars Courtney Balan, Chris Hoch, David Josefsberg and Joanna Young.

Including songs like “Parent-Teacher Conference” and “Prayer for Ellie,” Rated P For Parenthood explores the ups and downs of parenting through music and sketch comedy vignettes. The ensemble cast portrays a variety of parents and children dealing with humorous and often touching situations. From dropping a kindergardener off at the bus stop to teaching a teen to drive for the first time, the production examines each child-raising milestone.

Rated P For Parenthood includes choreography by Rachel Bress, scenic design by Steven Capone, costume design by Emily DeAngelis, lighting design by Michael Gottlieb and sound design by Jill BC DuBoff and David Sanderson.
